As of 7/30/13: to the best of our knowledge, these are the rates for most jobs. It's still up to you to be familiar with your own union contracts.
All rates are based on an 8 hour work day, overtime is based on the 8 hour rate.

Sorry to say, no. Today was pretty slow as far as bookings. Personally I had a busy paperwork day. :)

Hey there. I sent an email to join your service but never heard back. Are u not taking any new people bc of how slow it is or is it bc i dont fit ur criteria?
If you did not hear back from us, we were unable to take you on when you submitted. Our roster changes over time, so I encourage potential clients to re-submit in the future.
There's not a prefect answer I can give you, but yes, the slowness in the industry is a big factor in us limiting new clients, as it has been for several months. We try to be very selective about who we take on, but it isn't necessarily one type we like over another, sometimes it's just too many like types or stuff like that.
Also we get a lot of great submissions, we are simply not able to take everyone on.
Hi Mollye! I have a question. People keep suggesting that I register with several different casting agents in order to get more work, but you (Jessica's A-List) usually book me with those casting agents anyway. Would I improve my chances of getting booked with these CAs if I went down to their offices, paid the fees and submitted photos to them?

I'm a SAG member and have reached a certain age where my bookings have fallen off to almost nil. Do you think it's a good idea for me to go fi-core? I need work for some medical bills coming up and will probably lose my insurance soon. Thanks
Well, that's a tough one and a very personal decision.
It's always the balancing act between trying to keep insurance and simply earning money. You have to decide what is more important to you. And yes, it is a risk either way.
As far as people being fi-core... or those few who aren't officially fi-core, but work anything that comes along, they usually struggle to get work just as much as they did before.
I've actually seen it be a worse situation for an actor when they work some non-union jobs and when the production wants to use them as sag, they can't work because they have recently worked on the non-union side.
It may not be what you want to hear, but this industry does not supply steady work and a steady paycheck, so you may want to get a regular part time job if it is important to just make steady money.
Not the most fun answer, but that's what I got! Again, it's a very personal decision, so good luck!
RE: Registering with different companies question.
Other than Central Casting, you don't NEED to be registered with casting companies that we work with. However, the few casting companies that do registration, it doesn't hurt to be registered with them as well, especially if you like to submit yourself for work. In a nutshell, it's not going to do any harm to register with casting companies. If you have the extra few bucks, then why not.
Even though they don't book through schedule management companies, I do recommend registering with Jeff Olan Casting. Many people self book with them.

Though it is helpful to have a casting director referral, it still depends on how someone would fit into our roster and what our needs are at the time. Casting referrals go far in letting us know you are reliable, but a potential new clients look/type/age is still much more important.
